Hospice Chaplain - Per Diem
Position Description
As a key member of the interdisciplinary team, the Chaplain is responsible to provide spiritual support to patients and families in accordance with their wishes and belief system as well as the hospice plan of care. In this role the Chaplain will provide support to individuals of diverse faiths and backgrounds. This is a per diem position with potential to grow to permanent position.
Educational Requirements
- Masters of Divinity or equivalent Graduate Degree from an accredited Seminary or Theological school.
- Be ordained, commissioned or similarly recognized by his/her faith group to function in a ministry of pastoral care.
- A minimum of two units CPE.
Other Requirements
- Prefer at least one year hospice/end of life experience.
- Knowledgeable and skilled in dealing with the spiritual issues around life-limiting illness, loss and death.
- Strong communication skills
- Exceptional assessment skills
- Proficiency with medical EMR systems
- Valid driver's license in good standing and vehicle insurance required
- Ability to provide trusted, compassionate and expert care
